I wonder if the BIO-Diesel will ever be a reality? That should keep our farmers busy and maybe help them not lose their farms. I hate it when I hear of a Farmer having to lose his land because of things not of their control. Just maybe this Bio-Diesel will allow the men and women of this country that farms for a living to have another avenue of income. Just a thought since the prices of petroleum keep rising. I even heard of the new water powered (actually Hydrogen) where 4 ounces of water would allow the vehicle to travel 100 miles. What a wonderful invention if they can make it safe. I have always said that water is where they will find then answer not Space. Since 75% of our bodys and this earth is made of water... the answer has to be in water for most all the ailments of our lives.

If Biodiesel were ever capable of actually making a profit instead of just being a taxpayer funded subsidy, then China and Brazil would corner the market in a hurry and we'd be importing it from them......

Last time we were having a pretty decent civilized discussion on oil prices (I thought), the whole thread was deleted with no explanation - I guess the powers that be don't like these kinds of threads.

Biodiesel takes more fuel to make then it produces. That is a hard sentence to read. It ain't worth it.
Break the hydrogen out of water and burn it. Byproduct of water. It only takes electricity which we can make plenty of with nuclear power. Sure it is a pretty explosive gas to be carrying around but what is the alternative?

Thats just where we're goin guys. Dont forget the diesel fuel is going through some changes to meet the '07 regulations. It will undoubtedly cost more to refine the sulfer out of it. Guess where the money is comming from? I believe we went through the same stuff with the leaded vs unleaded gas way back when. Its just a convienient time to jack the diesel prices so we dont feel it so bad next year. Hybrid and Hydrogen are the next wave to come, not sure if JD, NH, or MF will have one though. As far as Bio, I doubt you'll see it regularly at the pumps. It's not practical, you could make it yourself on the farm if you wanted to but you'd have to make alot of it to pay for the fancy machines to make it. Just dont run it in your new trucks, manufacturers get nervous with anything more than 5%bio, it will clog the injectors.

Normally a vehicle would carry enough fuel to take it about 400 to 500 miles. If we did this with hydrogen, that would mean about 20 to 24 ounces of water which I am not sure how much hydrogen that would be I think about two thirds of that which would be about 16 ounces. How explosive is that and how dangerous would it be on the roadways? Anyone know these answers? Then what would it do to our insurance premiums? I wonder if this could be made safe enough for the roadways the way some drivers drive, could be a very hard problem to overcome but I am sure there is someone out there smart enough to come up with the answers... thing is, would our government allow this because of the lobbist and such.
