Almost feels the ones have the say are letting prices stay where they are for tad trying to keep heat off them, before they start rising prices again.

? Paul Volcker threw the brakes on pretty hard to fight the inflation that ramped up in the late 1970s.
The fed back then did not do the new financial engineering stuff they do today.

Paul Volcker just did the fundamental thing they teach in econ 101...that is to get interest rates higher than the inflation rate.

With gas and diesel making new highs each day...inflation is going to rage for a while yet. I don't think this fed has the balls to raise interest rates to 10%. Hell, a 2% raise is already rattling the housing market.

Then the housing market...it is now a speculative investment vehicle, we are going to see these highs and lows in cycles. Anyone who bought high is going to get rekt! Housing now is...if you don't buy right, you will never sell right. Just like in stocks.

If we start seeing extravagant profits by the oil companies (and politicians), there'll be hell to pay, I reckon...

"the U.S. housing market has been showing signs of exuberance for more than five consecutive quarters through third quarter 2021."

Last time I remember the word "exuberance" being used was when Alan Greenspan used it in reference to the late 1990s stock market before he crushed it.

Oil companies will have some good short term profits as the price for oil sold today is high and the cost to drill some of these producing wells were done when inflation/prices were lower. Then factor in the lag time of quarterly earnings, we might have one more quarter of decent earnings. Then when costs start to creep into the earnings, profits will plummet. It's coming.

the only thing that will prevent a crash in the housing market is supply. If the supply is kept low, then prices can't fall much. If supply increases...housing will fall like a rock.

The hedge funds that scooped up all the housing is the wild card. Hedge funds need to return a good profit to their investors. If housing stalls out, will the likes of Blackrock reallocate funds that have invested in housing elsewhere to capture that growth? Hint: They always have...

They have been regulated for decades at this point...what can they possibly improve on?
Didn’t say there was anything wrong. Said it was working. Most do a good job, but some plants don’t and that’s why enforcement is needed.

There is climate and then is weather.

Is the climate changing or is the weather changing?
Climate is long term weather patterns. If current weather changes hold over time, then climate changes. Otherwise it’s variable weather. But there are lots of publications showing changes in trends.

This is the biggest point made so far. He's employed by the gov. Nothing else here to listen too, let's move on folks.
An intelligent response? I’m not a political appointee. Learn the difference. Your agenda is showing.
