Comparison Different bucket options

It is a pretty easy welding project.. Just get them straight, and not tilted. I ground off the casting seam on my hooks on the bottom so they would sit straight on the bucket. Prepped the bucket by getting to bare clean steel, it never hurts. :) I use a small magnet to hold them still while I tacked. I wondered about arc "blow" with the DC welder, but it didn't seem to be a problem during tacking. Then just take some 7018 and get after it.

Looking good you guys. This is how mine ended up with a little rattle-can on top.

Nice job TexasBoy. What kind of welder did you use, Mig, Stick?

I have what Kubota called the round 72" bucket. Listed weight is 463 lbs. I don't weld so this is how the hooks went on.View attachment 390534

Four bolts hold a hook on each side. I've made a "loop" that attaches across, underneath, to each hook so I can lift straight up from the center.

I have hooks AND a tooth bar. The teeth make great attachment points for chains as well. I use them half the time, the hooks the other half. Just depends.

You need the HD bucket, for all the reasons listed already.
