I've seen lots of posts about people having issues with B2x20 series hydro pedals sticking or not centering. Mine has been doing this since new, though not badly and when lubed it was fine. Recently it's starting to do it MUCH more and badly enough that even if I stand by the tractor and move the pedal with my hand I can't get it centered. In the middle of a project today it wouldn't restart at all. I was able to disable the switch to get it running again. I verified that the switch appears to work and nothing is stuck in it, so it may be a bad part.

The real question I wanted to ask is who else has disabled this switch and is there any major downside to just leaving it this way? I'm the only operator of the tractor and only start it with the brake on. Since this mod I'll also only start it in Neutral. Obviously the seat switch if you got off while it's moving won't work anymore (though I disabled that long ago due to the issues with this same switch).

My plan is to have the dealer fix / replace or adjust as nessisary next time it's in for a service, but didn't want to make a trip in just for this. Looking for some insights to make sure I'm not forgetting any important scenarios or dangers.

I had a 2920 and the only switch I disabled was the operator present seat switch as it was a royal pain. Disabled with a wire tie and reset it when o traded it off.

I've done the same on this one. The issue with that is that the hydro pedal switch is so sensitive that it shuts off when you get out of the seat because it thinks it's moving. Not sure if the hydro switch is just too sensitive or if the mechanism gets gummed or needs regular adjustment. Seems like a regular issue with these, but easily fixed.

One snip and a butt conector solved my problem, personally think the clutch nutural safety switch is the most important

Mine has started doing this, this year at 7 yrs old and 300hrs. Not sure yet about disabling it, but I think I stumbled on to a quick work around. If you hold the key in the start position and then move the hydro pedal forward or backward, when it makes the centered safety switch the tractor will start.

Look at getting the hydro pedal system operating the way it should.

That's been my approach up until now. That's why I suspect my switch is bad because that stopped working. I even marked where it was centered and it wasn't starting. I plan to get the switch checked / replaced next time I have it in the shop (it looks like a pain to get out because the BH subframe is in the way).... I can say it's VERY refreshing to have it just start up and not spend 5 minutes fiddling with the pedal every time I go to start it!

My L3800 had that problem. I greased it and worked it back and forth (tractor off of course) as quickly as I could by hand. Has been working well ever since, centers up by itself. about 400 hours now.

The B series (B-20's and 30's specifically) had a rod that ran from the pedal link back to a safety switch. The rod runs through a sleeve. Sometimes there was too much paint on the rod and inside the sleeve which caused binding. Then the tractor "thought" that the pedal was "in gear". Also sometimes the charge pressure in the HST was on the lower or higher side which ultimately allowed the neutral roller detent to bind up. Speaking of neutral detent, I've seen those get stuck too. Kubota issued a bulletin that dealt with this issue.
