We have an old 1900 and we just go to the local dealer who used to be the Ford dealer. They can still get the parts.

A while back we needed new glow plugs. They had to order them, but they had them in just a couple days.

Good thing you didn't get a Ford Pinto. You might not be here today. Just got voted the most deadly car ever built. Another Ford first!
Don,t forget the chevy corvair or vega.NOW to the orginal posters question.I would stick with Massey(agco)Deere,Kubota or new holland/case.I currently have a Kioti and have had great luck so far.coobie

I am curious what Ford tractor owners do for parts? Ford is still in business, big time, but they dropped their tractor line from what I can tell. So along the lines that a major, successful company might drop a product line, just buying based on the major current colors doesn't seem like a complete guarantee of parts and support availability.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

The Ford Tractor dealer still has parts for my Ford YT16 lawntractor from 1984. I'd say that is quite remarkable being Ford didn't make Millions of them..

My local Case New Holland dealer still services my 1953 NAA, they also service my 1941 Farmall, as well as my 1959 New Holland Baler. My John Deere dealer still services my 50's mower and any parts I have ordered from either dealer have been there within 3 or 4 days. In one instance I even got a loaner tractor from them when I had hay down. Loaner was on a 65 year old tractor and they didn't even charge me, I did have to haul it both ways. I guess for my money I will stick with the colors, based on that alone.

The challenger was just an MF badged iseki under the skin so not a great example. Same as their other larger models were just MF4300 series, the 5400 series etc.

personally.....i believe that NO ONE KNOWS which company will be around in the future. Look at Saturn....and look what almost happened to GM. I figure that as long as the internet is around, i can always find parts for my tractor some wheres...and really, how hard is it to fix something . i have repaired and build many things over the years. i live 30 miles from main town, and would rather fix or build something than take it in to repair. Im hoping that the parent company of Kioti will be around for a long time...they have been at it for 60-70 years already.....so my bet is they will stay around. and as far as saying buy green (John Deere..)...i believed that in 1996 when i bought my JD870...only to find out that the tractor is built by Yanmar...not JD. Unless you buy a 250 HP tractor or greater...your sending your $$$ overseas.

It ain't the same Steiger my father owned. They looked better Green and then they were using CAT and Cummins engines.
CaseIH is a Fiat tractor so I guess it makes sense they are using an Iveco which is Fiat as well. I wonder how long before they put Iveco engines in Dodge pickups since they are Fiat owned now?

I guess they will eventually iveco have some nice smaller truck engines for the job .
