( KiotiJohn, A fixed or hydraulic thumb could be a great addition to my CK20HST TLB. I have tons and tons of rocks I could move more easily with a thumb. I have rocks from milk crate size to ottoman size on up. I guess the average weight might be about 350 - 450 lbs for the rocks I would hope to be able to move and place. By the way how much weight could you expect to pick up with a thumb on a CK20HST TLB?Charlie )
Charlie, I'm sorry, I can't really give you any estimate as I have yet to buy one of the thumbs. I still plan to, but I've had much too much else going on to get around to doing it.
That said, I think you can expect to pick up all the weight that the backhoe "could" pickup as long as you have the front loader filled to keep the front end on the ground. I'm sure that would be several hundred pounds, and probably would handle what you have.
As for problems on the site, I've not been there for quite a while, but I think other posters have taken care of that question.
I'd love to hear from others who have purchased this CDP backhoe thumb, and tell us your thoughts on it.

I just ordered the Thumb form Sales@ckp.backhoe.com I could not contact him from either of the web sites listed. I did speak to him on the phone two days ago. He told me that the thumb's are allready welded together and some are painted , some green some red. He told me he accepted paymnet through pay pal. So I went to my pay pal account and typed in in the above address and sent an email with an electronic payment. He told me of the two smaller units the TH858B is sturdier than the other small unit. I hope the unit will fit my bx22 David

I just got off the phone with Mr. Lizotte at CDP Backhoe and let him know that his webmail from the website is not working.
He said he must wait for his son to return home to repair the problem.
The correct address is sales@cdp-backhoe.com
The one you posted comes back as undeliverable.
Thanks for posting. Mr. Lizotte seems to be a very nice man, French Canadian, I believe. I thanked him again for extending the $20 discount to TBN members.

Gaetan asked me to post the correct contact information so there's no confusion. He doesn't take credit card phone orders, but accepts cashier's checks, International Money Order from the Post office only, or personal check or pay through PAYPAL. It's best to e-mail them first and tell them you are from TBN, and that you want the discount. Then you can pay with one of these methods.
Website: www.cdp-backhoe.com
Paypal address: lizottec@ntl.sympatico.ca
Contact address: sales@cdp-backhoe.com
So, contact him at the sales addy, then, if using Paypal, use the lizottec addy to send your payment.

KiotiJohn, Thanks for the answer to my question about wieght and for the extra data about the site for this thumb. A thumb and a tooth bar are on my list of must have items. I was interested to see in the thread that the thumb comes assembled or partially assembled. (guess most of the welding is to attach it to the backhoe) and I see one model is better than another from a helpful post. I thought that perhaps the jagged "teeth " of the thumb might have to be cut by a welder (I do not know how to weld) and was pleased to see a that this may not be the case. Charlie

Charlie, the difference in the thumb options is that one can be purchased in pieces that must be welded together for a finished product, and one comes already welded. I believe the thumb can be bolted on, but Mr. Lizotte can tell you exactly what you need to know if you e-mail him.
Before, he was only offering the kit for welding together.

EDIT: If you're only able to buy either the toothbar or the thumb right now, I'd go for the toothbar as you'll find it more useful in my opinion. You can always get the thumb later, but still efficiently use the backhoe bucket with it's teeth. The toothbar will increase the efficiency of the loader bucket many fold.
