Diverter Regen Coupler Trouble

I don't notice anything slow with the grapple, but I can say that my "pinch" force is very limited.

I'd just swap the plumbing to use the lift/lower circuit for the grapple. I did that because I didnt have enough "pinch" force to pick up a ~400# chunk of firewood on the sawed faces.

Sure I could pick up logs and all, positing the grapple where the lid closes and it actually gets under the log. Put actually trying to pick something up by pinching....forget it. So I swapped to lift. MUCH MUCH better now

That's the plan. I need to take a look and make a plan. I know I'll need a few different fittings and some different hoses.

Hopefully that fixes both issues.

Here's a crappy video, but I was running late for work and didn't really plan on having to plow this morning.

Left is left and right is right on the FEL control. So right is "regen".

I didn't show it in the video, but if I "dump" the plow it moves FAST. Way faster than curling the plow.

HAve no idea what your setup is, how its plumbed, etc.

IF you are "right" on that border line of not having enough power in regen, then there is a narrow window where it "can" seem slow.

Lets say if you do the math, and using regen the cylinder can push with 1000# of force.

Obviously anything over 1000# and it just aint gonna move...not enough power.

0-975# of force....regen is gonna be much faster. That last little bit where you are really working it....you might notice a bit of a slow down. Basically, when regen is right on the verge of stalling.....thats when it would be faster to not have regen.

I posted a video so you don't think I'm crazy :).

Yea, u got something going on. Did we establish for sure that you have a regen only valve? Whats the cylinder look like on the plow?

HAve you tried reversing the hoses and does it give the same result?

Im not sure regen is your problem. Because it seems WAY too slow even going to the right. IF you look at your curl cylinders and their size....in relation to how fast the bucket curls.....the plow is just way too slow.

I'd still ditch the regen and put it on the lift circuit.

My valve is regen only. That's all the TLBs come with.

The plow has a single double-acting cylinder. I chose it specifically because I realized most plows with 2 cylinders wouldn't work at all.

If I reverse the hoses I can only move the plow 1 way and the the other direction just stalls. Same with my grapple and switching the hoses.

I've tried hooking up an hydraulic motor and the same thing happens. It will spin in one direction but the other direction is stall.

Maybe kubota has some sort of restriction device in the dump circuit to prevent it from dumping too fast?

I have no idea really at this point. If you dont like it, I'd go to the lift/lower circuit for your diverter.

That makes no sense at all. The whole point of regen is for a fast dump. When dumping the bucket has leverage & gravity to pull the hydraulics faster than they want to go. That creates a vacuum in the cylinder or pulls air in past worn seals leading to a floppy bucket. And nobody respects a floppy bucket. Regen combats that with extra fluid (from the rod end) at the expense of power. As gravity is already doing all the work, power isn't an issue in most dumping action.

What is happening to his plow is what makes no sense at all.

Quicker dumping is not the only reason for regen. As mentioned...to prevent floppy bucket.

The higher flows of the kubota TLB hydraulics....in comparison to a similar sized ag counterpart.....maybe the dump was TOO fast in regen and slamming the bucket hard against the stops??

Again, just a guess. HAve no idea why his plow is angling slowly to the right without being there and seeing some pressures. So just speculating.
