Dixon Hydrostat-Excess hydraulic pressure?

So, I have a Dixon Ultra Ram 61 mower. I'm having a problem with the hydrostatic drive that I've not seen before, and am looking for advice. Recently, I noticed that the Left stick seemed to respond a bit weakly. This was accompanied by leakage of hydraulic fluid out of the filler tube. Note that this is part of a steel cube, and the filler assy is a welded NPT, 3/4" riser & plug, tightened well. There is a lot of fluid blown out over the deck and this (I think) the source of the power loss.

Does anyone have an idea why the reservoir pressure is rising this much?

does this model has reservoir for the hydrostatic transmission? If yes does the oil look foamy in the reservoir?

Thanks for your quick followup! Yes, it does have a reservoir. I checked, and didn't see any foaming in the oil. I changed the oil & filter last year and it appears to be in good shape.
