I see the bushings you mentioned (y)

The 4 lug hubs I bought has a 5” bolt circle & are for heavier implements they told me.

I guess that’s why the shaft is also bigger.

I also mow @ 3.5”

Anyways I’m excited to get it all built up & running soon

If the height adjustment was skipped it would allow the axle to be welded directly to the frame tube (or strut) end and eliminate the upper bushings & machining down the axles.
Simpler to make all new frame tubes and store the originals as is, but one big compromise.

IE. No gauge wheel height adjustment!

The OP threaded his shafts to lock them down tight with bolts.

Yes that's a good point, although he still had limited adjustment possibility but it does not sound like he was planning to change from 3.5" cut!
Since we have a Grasshopper mower where the height can be adjusted on the fly, I may just settle to have the F deck permanently set to 3.5".

@arto98607 are you wanting taller front deck tires for rougher ground like me
OR for less wear & tear on the components ?

Adjusting deck height on an F is not an easy or fun exercise, especially if needed often. Sometimes it’s nice to go from standard 3.5” to 5” to cut over roots. Of course you can lift the deck up to avoid striking them, but it’s nice to have a level cut.

For rough ground and also wet & soft ground since we need to mow some during winter. The small gauge wheels have tendency to dig into soft ground sometimes when having to reverse direction.

Wear has not been an issue so far, but for sure the small gauge wheels do not help.

It’s amazing how much taller & wider the fronts are on these ZD1211 & ZD1511 compared to most zero turns.

I think they’ll be fantastic on the front of this F mower (y)

These TINY Lil Ol 3.5x8.5” tube tires will never work here on my farm ground.

Wow what a difference when compared side by side!
My spindle kits came in yesterday and the shaft diameter is also 1-5/8", the new 15" wheels should be in couple of days.
