No, the timer functions are all electronic modules on the DK40se. The relays are all 5 pin on his rig. The only difference is the glow plug relay in the middle is 70 amp and the starter solenoid and the fuel stop solenoid relays are 50 amp and are the same relay. Assuming he has a DK40se...

Just a DK40 2005 model

Ok.. then I am not so sure on some of the things I posted which are referencing a DK40se.

Here is the deal. If you really want to be able to work on and fix your machine you need the workshop manual for your particular machine. Manufactures make changes all the time in how things work, so I could have easily given you some bad advice.. I just don't know.

Hey that's ok you and many others have been very helpful. I do have a manual of some sorts that have diagrams and such but it doesn't tell me how to fix anything. more on that later though.

the one relay that is rusted out may have been my problem all along??? The one that is rusted is the relay to the far left in the first picture.

luckily my battery was at 12.68 volts thankfully!

So question is which is which in terms of starter relay, glow relay and stop relay?

Two appear the same where as one is VERY different. I only ask because the position of the relays may not have been correct as I bought it from a person and one relay says "KIA" on it soooo I'm not sure they were put back into the factory order as far as left, middle, right.

Being that one relay was rusted out and the spring was rusted and in two pieces to me its save to say the contact would get stuck close which to me would suggest a possible draining of the battery since current was allowed to flow.

ALSO would explain why the prongs of two relays were hot this morning even though it was cold outside and the tractor wasn't started or running before hand

The glow plug relay should have contacts rated for 70 amps. The others will probably have a lower rating.

The rust is a MAJOR MAJOR problem. How in heck did it get water in it? Replace, and clean up or replace push on terminals. Try to figure out how the rust got in there... Never heard of this. Maybe someone sprayed it cleaning the engine compartment?

I'm not sure??? Odd though right hahaha.

OK the glow relay is fine then as it is picture in the fourth picture on the right and has 12v 70a stamped on it YES!

The other two must be star and stop relays then. According to your previous picture post k0ua the start and stop have to be 12v 40amp as noted in the picture :)

I'm going to jump out on a limb here but the stop solenoid always clicked after the tractor was turned off. which is this part I took a photo of which is in the middle of the 1st and 2nd picture but they are calling it a PTO and brake relay. I have a part manual so that helps a bit. but still confused as to which relay is what?

I want to say the one that is rusted is the START relay as the tractor would sometimes not start or give any indication of trying to start even with a fully charged battery?

Mine must be old cause looking at part names and numbers the one I posted first is different maybe its older??? I just want to make sure I get the right relay with the right rating of volts and amps.
