DK 45 50 hour service

The owners manual for the DS 4110 HS Maintenance Schedule Chart page 7-4 line 4 Transmission fluid Check at 10 hours, Change at 400 hours.

Page 7-14 "transmission fluid should be changed if it is contaminated or after the transmission is serviced or every 400 hours" and "When changing the transmission fluid, make sure to change the fluid filter".

Is changing the filter not "transmission service"?
Is topping up with fluid not "transmission service"?

and "replace the filter only at initial 50 hours and every 200 hours operation afterward"


That's three filters in 400 hours. Six if you are HST. (and I don't mean the Canadian tax)

The DS 4110 doesn't come with HST option but it tells me to change that filter at the same time.

Are these group specific manuals, model specific manuals, or generic manuals?

Kioti will need to get less ambiguous if the service schedule in our owners manuals are to form part of the warranty claim.

I appreciate that. However service is service and many of the requirements are the same. Even the smaller models have the 50 hour requirement.

It's the obvious lack of clarity within the manuals that is troubling not to mention the filter and oil costs.

Oh i wholly agree that the manual is confusing. thats why i had to email corporate. heck, even my dealer was confused

As for the filter costs, i used to own a JD tractor and those filters were just as costly. that HST filter is a real sucker punch to the old gut. but it has to handle ALOT of pressure.

but its all relative. a set of points for a car are $3.00. a set of points for an airplane magneto run $175.00. they look the same.

Now my Service book states no transmission fluid changes till 400 hours..Do you have one????

Whatever drives your tractor CJ. I don't need WRITTEN permission from anybody. Tell me this, How many other tractor brands say to change Hydra oil at 50 hours???...... NONE.:confused2:

But you will if you go aginst what the MFG says and they deni your warranty. That is what this was about. You have a nice day. As for me being confused about hydraulics well I doubt it. CJ

If you own a Service manual you might want to read it. If you don't own one, don't give advice on something you don't know anything about.:confused2:

I have one and I have read it, so what don't I know anything about? The MFG states you could be denied your warranty if you don't do the 50 hour service the way they want it to be done, it is just that simple. I hate to be redundant but see post #33 and #15. I promise you I will not comment unless I have something worthwile to add. Sorry for ruffleing your feathers. CJ

See 1-17, in the SERVICE book NOT the owners book. No warranty problem.I am sooo done with you...Go spend your money fool.

Good luck with the email. I hope you get some clarity. I emailed them this week and asked if there was any warranty problem if I changed the fluids myself and got this response.

Not to be **** but that wasn't worth the electronic ink it took to write it considering the conflicting information on this board that folks are providing based on dealer feedback. The dealers are not consistent. Additionally, as mentioned earlier...my owner's manual and shop manual don't recomend the same oils so go figure. Top it all off and I was told it would be $950 to pick my tractor up and perform a 50 hr. service and I'm about 30 miles from the dealer. Painful to say the least but I want to do it right which is frustrating considering the different feedback on this one topic. Doubt I'll get the dealer support that you all mention without changing it. Think I'm going to roll the dice, try it myself, change all fluids and save $500. Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Hey another owner on this thread said he gets aswers to all his questions quickly. So I am sure by Tuesday say I should have the answer from Lord Kioti himself. All joking aside I work with a Plastic Machine manufacturer and all our big machines are hydraulic, we have only filtered the oil not replaced it..We offered a 2 year warranty for a machine that ran 24 hours 7 days a week.
