Thanks I was thinking that it was. The leak was worse at higher rpm than idle. I thought it might be leaking by the orings or crush washers but when I wiped it all off and got my wife to start it up I could see the oil coming from the weld area.

I suppose you could take it off and clean it really really good (steam?) and try to TIG weld it. Or, get another one.. That is what the mechanic would do..
