Above are the pics of the parts involved in solving the squeal issue. The first pic shows what the tractor is equipped with from the factory. The second and third pics depict the replacement parts; a newly designed hydraulic hose which I believe takes the place of the "u" shaped metal pipe. (I say, "I believe," because I did not actually see whether the "u" shaped metal tube was reinstalled or not- I was called away at the moment things were being reassembled. I will take a look and post back if indeed the piece is still used as part of the update). The old style banjo bolt had a hex head cap screw head and the new design attaches the hydraulic hose's elbow swivel fitting directly to the top of the bolt's end. Note the hyd hose has a cap on it from the factory to protect it from contamination. The caps which were on each end are removed prior to installation. Installation took about 1/2 hour or less start to finish. There is no need to drain hydraulic fluid to do this update, but I was at 400 hour service interval so I changed both hydraulic filters and topped off the trans fluid.

Part numbers from the parts bags they came in, are as follows: New style eyebolt to replace existing~ part # T4125-39101.
Attenuator hose: part # T4125-39001
Cord band,(cable tie) part # T2185-82551

NOTE: I cannot say whether these part numbers apply to ALL tractors exhibiting the squeal noise because I'm not privy to that data- which is one again why I suggest ANYone with the squeal noise that needs diagnosis/repair; contact your selling dealer and discuss it with them FIRST.

CM out.
Thanks coyote machine for this research. My new 2012 DK40 HST had the same squeal in reverse.I contacted my dealer about a week ago for a fix based on this information.Michigan Iron & equipment came tonight and installed the kit and the squeal is GONE.Thank you for this great information.coobie

You're welcome! Glad this fix is still doing it for those who end up with the reverse squeal. It's great when it goes away, isn't it?

kco, If you could take a moment to assist me on the installation procedure to install the Squeal in reverse kit for you DK35.

I assume you remove the upper banjo bolt on the side of the transmission, and replace it with the new open headed "banjo bolt" I assume with the O ring under the head of this bolt?.. how tight do you tighten this? I am a little confused by the O ring, not being in a recess? Then screw on the right angle hydraulic connector of the attenuator hose and route the end capped attenuator hose forward to near under the starter. Any input on the proper procedures would be helpful.

No problem, just glad to have been able to follow it through to a solution with Kioti. If I'd listened to my selling dealer and their c^%p about, 'all manufacturers have had this problem', I'd have been listening to the squeal until I dumped the tractor at a loss - no one wants to listen to that noise day in and day out....
Tractor on!

Yes, the banjo bolt is the one on the left side of the transmission case directly above the HST filter. The first photo in my May 09, 2012 post (#366 of this thread) shows the new banjo bolt in place before attaching the hydraulic hose. I can't recall the "O" ring arrangement but think it is as you described. I believe I simply replaced it to be the same as the one that came off with the original banjo bolt. I just tightened the bolts fairly snugly, but not overly so.

The second photo shows the new banjo bolt with the hose running to the front--over a wiring harness and operator platform support. It also shows the tape-covered blob of foam to protect the hose on the platform support bracket.

That positioned the hose end so it rests on the loader mount bracket and frame under the starter as shown in the third photo. It's all well protected and supported so I did not bother tying it down.

The fourth photo shows the completed installation looking directly up from the floor.

Before changing the banjo bolt I ran the left side wheels up on 6" x 8" blocks(one is visible in third photo) so the tractor would be tilted to the right before removing the banjo bolt. It gave more working clearance and lessened the chance of losing oil. However, losing oil is not likely a problem since the HST filter, which is lower, can be changed with no oil loss. But I'm not sure, because I always run it up on blocks when changing the HST filter.

Thanks to Coyote's instructions and photos it is an easy installation. If I can do it anyone can.

Cheers,

Ken

Just curious, Has no one reported the squeal noise since this last post dated 2013? I don't recall it being talked about lately but then my memory isn't what it used to be.

The patch kit fixed it, and likely became a part mod of all tractors made after it.

My 2 year old DK40 with 76 hrs on it just started to having the reverse squeal. It is going to the dealer next week for some other HST issues and I hope to have them address the squeal issue as well.
