Tractor
Kioti DK55 Cab, 3 NHs (from 40-90HP)
been lurking for some time - thought i'd share this:

after years of research, using a friend's DK35 on the farm, and leaning toward a L5030, i finally came to my senses.

this weekend (on the way to buy that L5030!), i stopped at Ken's Tractor in Keene NH. i didn't make it to the Kubota dealer.

after comparing the L5030, and the DK55 cab, it was pretty clear that:

1) i don't need no stinking hydrostatic transmission
2) i could save thousands
3) the kioti was, IMHO, built just as well as the kubota
4) the kioti had features the kubota did not have.

the bottom line:

i picked up the tractor i need for the farm, with the attachments i wanted, for thousands less.

i am VERY excited about this tractor. i've been dreaming for 20 years - and have been mentioning it during every farm chore:

"ya know honey, this ATV is nice, but it can't pull stumps".

i'll report more as soon as i take delivery.

Sweet! IMHO, the DK55 is the best looking CUT out there - I'll be looking forward to pictures of yours /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Welcome to the pack!!!
Glad to hear you went with Kioti. I, too, found the Kioti a better deal than the Kubota by several thousand in what I was looking for. I also think they offer more than the Kubota for the dollar. Keep us updated (with photos) when your "55" comes in. G

Congratulations. That is one fine tractor and I have lusted over one at my dealer's every time I've been out there. Isn't it nice that Kioti offers so many extras as standard, and for less money? People have to go see it to believe it as you did. Hope you can sleep while you wait. John

Just like always happens with the CK25, you need to compare apples to apples. The DK55 is not the Kubota equilivant to the L5030 despite the close HP numbers. Its much more along the lines of the MX5000 or M5700.

Neil, I don't get your point? Just like (what) always happens with the CK25?

my fault I should have been more clear, if you read other threads the CK20 and 25 are often compared to the Kubota BX, New Holland TZ, Deere 2210... all sub compacts while the CK is really a compact and a direct comparision to the Kubota B, JD 4000's, etc. Kioti does not even make a sub compact equilivant.

Its a common mistake because the HP of all the machines are very close, however their chasis size and sometimes transmissions are totally different.

In this example, a DK55... a heavy AG type tractor with standard transmission is being compared to an L5030, a real bells and whistles tractor on a Compact chasis. To be really fair you need to compare tractors that are in the same class, in this case a Kubota M, NH TC55/TN, Deere 03 utilities, etc.

Neil........ the CK25 is a new model for Kioti that has not even hit the streets yet. So there has been very few comparisons involving the CK25. I haven't seen any comparing a CK25 and a subcompact......

You might want to spend some time looking over the DK55 to see the bells and whistles. Apparently 'psuedofarmer' has.

Instead of highjacking 'pseudofarmers' thread....hold on to your thoughts and when the subject comes up in a 'question and answer' format, (model A vs. model B) bring it up.

Meanwhile, Congratulations 'pseudofarmer' on your purchase! We'd sure like to see some pictures when delivery day arrives. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Point taken, none the less for people who do not comb though these boards regularly one could take what was said and assume that The L5030 and DK55 are aimed at the same market when infact they are not. Before posting I did do my homework and if you would do the same I think you would come to the same conslusion.

Neil, I heard you the first time. I don't think it's necessary to hijack this thread any further.
