The funny thing is that he filled the bucket up a couple of times. I finally witnessed it filling the bucket. I tried to flush it out by digging about a foot behind it. That didn't work, his tunnel took a right before it got to me. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gifIt was like Caddy Shack. I came close to using dynomite. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( I have moles . I lost a specimen Japanese maple due to (I think) the excessive number of holes and tunnels at the base and rootball of the tree. I think they dug enough tunnels to epose the roots to air - hence the dead tree.
Chipmunks are no longer the cute little critters I thought they were. I trap them or shoot them on site. The dogs get a few as well.
Like you I have had no success with the moles. I have the spike plunge trap and spent countless hours monitoring and moving it. No luck. Think I will try mole poison soon.

Gees, are moles ever bad this year!! My "yard" is about 10 acres. In the past I've had a couple of Shelties who kept the mole population to about zero. I constantly complained about my yard looking like the face of the moon; craters everywhere from the dogs getting the moles. This last year both of my Shelties died. (both were 16 years old) Now I have moles digging all over my yard!

I had to laugh at the Caddy Shack stuff because a week or so ago I saw a mole pop up when I was driving down my driveway. I immediately stopped the car and sprinted across the yard and stomped the crap out of the little beast! My wife was watching. She thinks I'm nuts. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I have so many moles now, I don't have a clue how to get rid of them. The instructions of the traps say to put the trap on the main runs. How the heck would I know that with what looks like thousands of runs all over 10 acres?!
