Do you know what the purple paint law is?

Mo, those are some good teams to follow. I quit following my college Alma Matter because, well, let’s just say their views on thinks became very “twisted”. My High School alma matter changed their name from “Indians” to something less offensive, so I hung up my coaching career. Now I gotta turn my back on the NFL, for same reasons. At least my Eagles won a Super Bowl and beat the legend, Tom Brady, before the NFL lost its mind and became a well, you know what ;) Nick Foles will forever live in my family’s heart.

I am immersing myself in my kids college sports now, but one of their teams has become, well, you know…..kinda strange.

So I guess there’s not much left ‘cept Rodeo, tractor pulls and NASCAR, now of which I have much interest.

Yes. I hear everything you are saying.

Which is why I pay zero attention to the Olympics. Between some of the athletes behaviors and the coverage, it is not entertainment but preaching.

I am a pretty avid sports fan - the STL Cardinals and Mizzou football.

I’ve never considered myself close to a radical suicide bomber!!!!

How much money do you spend on sports?

There are some people whose life seems to be dictated by how their sports teams play, which really makes no sense to me.

Exactly how does professional sports actively play a "happiness role" in your life?

When it comes to political correctness of a sports team, I really don't give a flying ratts butt what the pro sports team does. What an athelete wants to do is their business, not mine.

At the end of the day, what an pro athlete does on or off the field puts no less nor no more money in my pocket, and watching sports, although may be fun, there are WAY more important things to do than have a sports team affect your own personal attitude.

Now, that said, since I've seen Bill Bergy play at the Vet, I was jumping up and down screaming my head off at the TV when the Eagles finally won. Still remember when they lost to the Raiders in 80 (but at least the Phillies won that year).

It is the opposite of happiness in my house.
Sports have ruined Sunday night tv for years. I set the recorder to my shows for later viewing, only to find out that the sports show ran late.

When you think about it, what is the difference between a radial suicide bomber who would kill themselves intentionally to take other lives for a "cause" vs the person who gives their whole life and money to a "professional" sports team, that in reality does nothing for spectator lives other than to feel good about themselves becuase they follow the "team"?

The way I see your thought process is that people spend money on sports because they have fenced themselves and are looking for an "escape" to make themselves feel better about themselves, which I would agree with.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching my pro football team and my college alma mater, when they're on TV, but at the end of they day, be it they win or loose, that does not determine my happiness at the end of the day as a person, and I'd rather give my tithes to the church I'm attending vs my alma mater or a pro sports team.
Yes, failing to practice temperance is one of the many negative results of alowing our mind to fall captive. Most if not all social issues would be forever resolved if it were not for this lack of temperance. Bikeshedding and Virtue Signaling are a couple of popular tactics used to build fences around our minds.

I’ve had several bosses over the years that if “Their” team lost our entire station suffered. Had the purple paint law been in effect back then I would have painted my work mail box purple. And my back!

You are much smarter than myself. I just think the more F'ed up your life, the easier it is to fall into something that you think is happiness at perhaps the expense of others ;)

Take suidice bombers for example. Do I think most want to die? No I don't. However, where do you get a your point in life where you are willing to take innocent lives in a name of a cause?

Take dadiehl past supervisors as another example. Where are you at in your point of life where a game which you don't play, and has no bearing on what you can and can't do, would get you to the point that others around you don't like you because you let a sports team dicate your happiness? All one has to do is go to some "sports forums" to see how radicalized some people are over a "team" they have no control over.

At the end of the day, if I'm walking and see a no tresspassing sign, I think to myself, "oops, I'm tresspassing, I need to leave because this is private property". Why do some people think that no tresspassing signs do not pertain to them if they are actually tresspassing? Heck, why do some people think that steeling anothers possessions is acceptable?

Trying to right the train tracks here 😁

Did just take a drive out back to say hi to a friend. He has a couple of people shooting on my land because he knows the door is always open, and he asked. I did complain to him that they have tents set up, and we NEVER had tents set up when we shoot🤣
