hmmm,

Wix claims to have a cross for the HHK20-26990 hyd filter in my GR2120, but not for the HH150-23430 in the BX24. I'd have thought it would be the other way around, if they had anything.

@Tractor Seabee, I was idly reading your post over on "Plowing feed plots..." when I came a cross "blackberries". Howdy neighbor. Looking forward to that hyd filter number.

[edit] Simultaneous posts :) Thanks for the info.

My RTV1140 will need its 50 hour service this summer. Believe it will be just as easy or easier to do since bed raises and it looks like it's all right there in easy reach.

If you had the mmm off would jacking up on side that the hydro screen is on would prevent any fluid from coming out when you cleaned it for 50 hr service I have a bx 2360????

My BX25 will need 2yr & 400hr in April, dealer service time?
No. Do it yourself and save a few hundred dollars. The dealer won't do anything more than you will/can do and maybe even less. They will just let fluids drain in between other jobs and replace filters in between other jobs. I won't require their smartest mechanic to do the fluids service, see what I mean? Plus your taking it in, leaving it till they get time in the schedule and then going back to get it or paying someone to do the pick up and delivery.

I don't think so unless you turn it on its side. Just get the cork and don't worry about losing a couple of cups of fluid.

Zol, the whole NAPA # is 557088 in case you did not pick up on it earlier.

Remember the good old days when some filters had a nut welded to the top for easy install/removal with a socket wrench.......... I'm going to do my fluids and filters this week. 520HRs on my BX22. This is thing I ever purchased. I should have purchased it years ago (got it in 2006). Snow, dirt, mulch, cut wood, bricks, stone, trenching............NO MORE BACKACHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I even got the 60" belly mower and took it off and put it in storage in the garage for more clearance room.

Anyone looking for Parts/diagrams PDFs on the BX22, LA210 and BT600 email me and I will send you the ones I found. Pics and part numbers:thumbsup:

I think 557088 might be the Wix number.
Maybe a little cross-packaging from the factory?

Napa filters are made by WIX, they use a four digit numbering system, Wix uses five. 7088 Napa is a Wix 57088, usual just a 3,4 or 5 to the front of Napa # gives you the Wix number.

After just over a year of ownership, the time for the 50-hour service for my BX25 finally arrived. (well, it was more like 51.4 hours... I put it to work yesterday...:D)

Some newby lessons learned:

- In spite of the warning about how much hydraulic fluid will come out when you remove the debris filter, I was so surprised by the gushing flow of fluid that I fumbled the rubber stopper, and spilled about over a quart of oil. Fortunately I bought a quart "just in case", so now I'm only down about a half a quart. Next time, I need TWO "spare" quarts of hydro fluid. There were almost no metal shavings on the filter.

- Loaded tires are HEAVY... I may get one of those dollies to make it easier to re-install the left-rear tire.

- I wasted way too much time trying to work around my Bro-Tek skid plate. Just remove the nuts from the forward u-bolts, and the plate will drop enough to give you plenty of room to work.

- I forgot fold the ROPS when I finished (I keep it up when I'm working on the tractor, because I keep banging my head on it), and smashed one of my BXPanded lights as I was trying to pull out of the garage... :( . I'm moving them so they are under the ROPS.

Overall, well worth the experience. I'm thinking that since I don't have a trailer to transport the tractor, I probably saved as much as $200 between labor and transportation. Of course, that does not include the cost of replacing the light.:(

This should have screen location.

That is the reason to use a vacuum cleaner and an assistant rather than a plug. You will spill NO oil.:thumbsup:

John, thanks for the awesome instructions and pics.............think I'll know what to look for now..........called my dealer and asked about getting the trans. oil/filter for the 300 Hr. change........he said just change the filter if the trans. oil is clear (which it is) and top off the oil....not sure what to do........don't mind spending the money for the extra oil for the complete change..........

You can do the short cut, if you want to, but if I enjoyed the tractor and wanted the best for it, I'd change the fluid in a heart beat. The BX doesn't hold THAT much fluid. It isn't a bank breaker. Old fluid loses it's additive package, through time, draws moisture, picks up metal particles and environmental contaminants, etc. No way I'd leave it in any longer, (it's likely been in since the 50 hour?) but you do what you think is best.
