Thanks for the numbers -- that's really helpful. Mentally, I'm well on my way to getting a larger trailer (dual axle, with brakes) because when I need to evacuate the tractor, it will be so much easier to just mount all the implements I am able to accomodate and go, rather than trying to raise implements on pallets in my shop. Since my towing capacity is only 5,000 lbs, I have to do some careful math when I go trailer shopping (which will be after I get the tractor).

In the meantime (hurricane season is many months away), I have my 5x10 2600 lb capacity trailer, which could fit the tractor and MMM only. ScottK, how wide is your 2320 with the R4 tires?

Thanks to the help that everybody in this forum has given me, I know exactly what I want and I'm ready to go tractor shopping -- probably next Monday. I can't thank you enough!

The 2320 is 47inches wide with R4s. The 48" box blade just covers it's tracks.

Don't know anything about the Kubota but here's what I have:

2320 200 CX loader. Detach and reattach all the time. Great feature.

Toothbar on loader bucket. H& H also makes what they call a landscape toothbar. Have it on the 5203. A really great tool.

62D MMM. 54 would be fine too. Nice cut.

Frontier box blade. Have moved a lot of dirt around and really like the job it does.

I use a ballast box rather than other rear mounted implement when doing just loader work.

I intend to get an LX 4 for rough cutting post oak and other dense undergrowth under my oaks. Guess I'll be trimming up a few rocks too.

Am satisfied with mine so far. Just watch the clogging of the radiator screens when mowing with the mmm in dry vegetation.

You may want to check the actual width of a 54" mower. My 62" barely fits my 78" wide trailer. JC

Hello again all --
Shoppin' and talkin' are done. :D

I will be getting a JD2320 with a 200CX FEL and tooth bar, 54D OnRamp MMM, Frontier RC1048 4-foot rotary cutter, Frontier BB2048L box blade, ballast box, R4 tires. The MMM needs to be ordered, and everything will be ready for delivery in about a week and a half. Then I need to wait for a day off, so looks like just after Thanksgiving for delivery.

Thanks again for all the great advice -- rest assured, I'll be bringing plenty more questions to the table!

ScottK --yeah, that's what I thought too, and I originally specified the standard BB2048. The dealer says that they often put a BB2048L with a 2320, especially for my intended use where I'll often be attacking hard or heavy (clay) dirt. I think he was just trying to whittle the package price down a little ...

For hard dirt, you want heavier - trust me - I have it. There is no downward force on the cat 1 hitch other than the weight of the implement. That is why I also hang 4 JD suitcase weights on it. You can always take a shallower cut in heavy dirt. You cannot forcibly dig into hard dirt without the weight.

ScottK -- thanks for verifying my gut feeling with your experience! I switched the order to the standard BB2048. My salesman was skeptical :)confused:) but I sure do feel better now. ;)

Just yesterday I was out at my property cleaning out the workshop for the new tractor (finally some incentive to attack a 900sf space and fill the trailer with dump fodder). I spent some time walking around the acreage with box blades on my mind ... and I think I'm going to use that blade a lot more than I originally thought!
