Cheaper to bury it our plant has a styrofoam cyber its disconnected now cost more to man and run than to bury the waste. I'm all for recycling but it needs to be more efficient. We are looking to put in a grinder for the wood waste but if boiler fuel prices keep dropping we won't.

Two hundred years from now all the dumps and landfills will be mined for the minerals and chemicals in them.

There are an estimated two billion pallets in the US so it's not usually too hard to find them for free.

As far as getting hit by a 730 haul truck.....

Bruce it's goin on now landfill mining. There was an old town dump/unlined pre subtitle D dump that was to be moved. It had everything in it food scraps to metal. It was closed in the 70's. They started just moving it and the company over it set up a screen plant they pulled out 9000 tons of steel 25 tons of copper and brass. And cleaned the site, on subtitle d or household sites where the leachate is treated or trucked to POTW's, they have started putting in treatment plants that pull out minerals. I know the pull out sulfur, and some valuables like gold and silver that the acidic leachate dissolves.
