Does your tractor sleep inside or outside

/ Does your tractor sleep inside or outside #101
Hey, Ductape-- we got about 8" up here, then another 3 yesterday AM (just enough to blow again).... You gonna fire that grill up soon? Looks like you're keeping it very accessible! :D

Ordered a Bro-Tek thumb yesterday... any progress on your float? I still just hold mine w/ right hand while blowing.

Sure is nice to have this heat wave!

I thought about getting the grill inside this year...... but honestly, we still use it occaisionally, even in winter. Good thing i insisted on a stainless grill when we replaced the last one! I'm sure glad to see this heatwave also. Its impossible to keep any heat in our 130 yr old house. We like the "character" of an old house, but the original single pane windows aren't really a positive characteristic :(!! As far as the float goes, do you mean the issues i was having operating the chute with the four position loader valve? If so..... i've just learned to live with the jerkiness when raising the chute deflector when pushing the joystick past the detent. I may try some flow restrictors in-line next year to smooth it out, but it hasn't been as much of an irritation as i thought it would be.

I'm hoping the thumb will help me to process some of the numerous fallen trees I have around here into firewood.... as well as some other uses I've learned about on TBN. Had to wait until some $$ was available, but it had been on my list since --oh, about 10 minutes after I got the tractor a year ago....:D:D

Karl2--
Well, of course it's a personal preference thing, but for me, anything above +10 is getting there, anything above +15 is "doable," and if it gets near +20, that's a heat wave and I start thinking about getting a motorcycle out. :D:D

PS- Depends on what you're used to, but even zero can feel good after several days of working outside at -20! (Why do we live up here, anyway?? Or, "Why do you keep banging your head against the wall?" "Because it feels so good when I stop!")

Got that right, I live up here because summers are so pleasant it's worth the 11 other months of rain, fog, snow, ice, and mosquitoes. :D

Was born here but lived in Southern California for almost two decades. All I have to say about the weather down there: so predictable it bored me to pieces after two years. Bring on the sleet!

One thing I like about people up here: most of them wouldn't want to live anywhere else and neither would I :)

My 2305 stays in my heated garage at all times, her attachments are stored out back in my new barn.

Here is where all my tractor "stuff" resides. So long as I can fit it in here, and the Wife doesn't see it out in the yard, she doesn't care what I have:D:D.

Mine sleeps inside my recently finished "quonset hut" type metal building. Attached are some pics from the past several months. This building took from mid fall last year until last week to "finish."

It's 14'wx20'lx12'h with end wall and 8'x8' door end. Concrete floor is 6" fibre reinforced slightly larger than finished building. Local business fabricated c-channel bolted to pad, and building bolted into c-channel. Twenty three yards of sand fill before pad poured and building erected ....

2305 Tractor, 200CX FEL, Ballast Box, 647 Tiller, and 54C mower are all I have in building. Plenty of room to get to everything ...

L8r,
Joe :D
