Well, since I've showed you pictures of some of the dogs currently in our foster care, here are some that are actually are ours and we'll never let go of.
The first pic is of Ella, our last dog we brought in. I found her as a pup in August in North Carolina at a gas station four years ago, laying on her side, looking good as dead with over thirty ticks on her. She was a dump off, no one wanting her. I had to call the wife on her. I knew what the answer would be. She needs to always wear a training collar becuase when I let her out at 5 am, and she gets a scent, she'll never come back until she finds what she's looking for, which makes me late for work.
Shadow, our aussie mix. Again, a dump off. Long story, owner couldn't handle her as a pup and lied at the vets office (where we "found" her). She was our second dog. At first very insecure, always would follow you around no matter where you'd go. Thus her name. Now a completely different dog and very secure.
The third is Rose, our English Lab. Again, another long story, but wife my got her up in Vermont before she moved to North Carolina. On my first date with my then future wife (in North Carolina), when I was at her house I got on the floor and played with Rose. I always joke that at that point after some of the men my future wife dated, when Rose got along with me playing, my wife knew I was the man she was going to marry.
The fourth is not really ours, but since we've had her for going on two years, she feels like shes mine. Lexi, an American Staffshire Terrier. She was found under a trailer with 6 pups, only two survived. We don't know her "full" story, but we do know that she was shot at numerous times with a bb gun due to the bb's still located in her body. Out of the four dogs I've mentioned, she is by far the most loyal and obediant (sp?) dog that I have ever known.
