From the end of my driveway I can see the local bank drive-ups. Merged with with another local bank few years ago (now a dozen locations). Still Friendly, helpful and seem to know everyone on sight. They have closed lobbies for normal walk in traffic. Need to make an appointment go in for customer service or safety deposit box.
I use the online banking for both personal and business accounts. No more paper statements in the mail. Transfer money, pay mortgage, etc all from computer or phone.
They encourage use of ATM card by raising interest rates on checking account if you use the card at stores at least 12 times a month and get electronic statements. Small local stuff on ATM, big and online stuff on the rewards credit cards.
Few years ago my daughter needed money. Walked in to local BofA branch with cash and her account number. They refused to let me deposit cash in to her account. "Only the account owner can deposit cash." WTF?
We did get rid of home landline. Still have landline for business. Spend more time on cell then landline with clients.
