*Sort of like having a keyed lock on the passenger door... 95 percent of car owners probably won't use it, so they just quit spending the money to have the feature there for the other five percent.

* Maybe My brother should pursue this under the Disability Act
He got royally screwed - All that money for a vehicle that has no value to him because he can't use it.
There is no way I will Buy a Vehicle that don't have keyed locks on both front doors.
Another Thing I don't like about the deal is keyless entry requires the use of 2 keys instead of one to operate the vehicle

I don't blame you if that's an important feature for you. In my case, I was a bit surprised to notice no key lock on the passenger side of our van when I was hand washing it several months after I bought it. It's just not something that has any importance for me although I can understand it being important for someone like my brother who uses his Colorado as a service truck doing on site RV repairs.

I've noticed in my travels around dealers that most of the new vehicles only have a keyed entry on the drivers side. One dealer said they did it to save money, not that it was passed on to the consumer, but I don't know how true that is.

When we bought our '05 Chevy Trailblazer I was happy to see there was only one lock on the whole thing - the driver's door. Have to either use the remote or the power locks to even unlock the rear hatch. This made me especially happy after our Honda was broken in when someone punched a locked in. Caused a lot of headache to get it fixed. The TB does have keyless entry, the Honda doesn't and I hate the fact it doesn't.

Our '99 Silverado has keyless entry and locks on both sides. The number of times the locks on the passenger side has been used - 0, the number the driver side used - 1.

Just had to go out and look. New to me 2006 Silverado Ext cab with remote, no keyed entry on the passenger side.

The fact you had to go out and look proves how many people use the keyed lock on the passenger door. MOST people don't use it, so the feature was eliminated to save money... same reason keyed door locks aren't on the rear doors of four door automobiles.

1*So is the drivers door the only door you can get into the Veh.with when the Veh is locked up?
2*This means you have to use 2 keys to start it with then correct? 1 to unlock the door and another 1 to start the engine.

3* & 4* But you can unlock both doors from the outside right?
My brothers Gripe is he can't un lock the Passenger side door from outside of the Truck.

That's my brother's gripe, too. I guess our brothers should have sprung for the remotes, huh?:D

Morning.
Has anyone notice that the cup holders are getting smaller???...house hold coffee cup no longer fits in compact pick up....least in Colorado...I dislike the use of travel mug w/sippy lid. :(

It's not too late... The dealer can install them, hopefully at a reasonable price. Mr. Brown's brother should consider that... it's a handy feature.
