On facebook market place I see a lot of dozers/crawlers for sale. Some are just being parted out. It might be a good source for the missing part if you need one. Great thread cannot wait to see what you do with it!!!!!

Way back in time when we use to cut firewood at a local peat bog they had a fleet of these old cleat tracs, only one had the original engine still in it the rest had GM conversions. They used 4cyl and 6cyl engines. Had a bud who acquired an old one and he ended up stuffing a V8 in his.

It's good to see the interest from you folks. I'll continue on.

I'm just doing this for the fun of it. I have nothin but time. I'd like to get it runnin first, then it'll tell me what's wrong with it, once I start movin levers. I don't mind sinkin a few hundred bucks into this to see where it gets me. No big deal. I think it'll be a good machine if I can get it going.

It's cranks over, once in a while it'll pop. I was spraying some starting fluid. I pulled the plugs multiple times and put a few drops of gas in each cylinder. I have my hand over the carb as a choke. But that's all I'm gettin. I'm not getting the suction like I was on my Oliver..

I took the carb apart and cleaned everything, but I didn't have a rebuild kit. I reused everything. That could be one of my problems I guess. Zimmerman mentioned forget this carb and buy a rebuilt Zenith from him for $270, since there's nothin available for the Tillotson.

I have another fuel source sittin on the hood as a gravity feed.

Today:
Okay so I have some stuck valves. LOL. 0 psi on all cylinders except number 5, 80 psi. I pulled the intake/exhaust manifold and the head off. Think I'm gonna do a quick valve job. Nothin I cant handle.

I've seen vehicles with nothing wrong just parked and never moved... with tracks... sometimes it takes more time to free up the tracks than anything else.

Ditto on the tracks, they can be a bit of a challenge to free up. The climate looks pretty dry so that will certainly help. Sometimes they can be freed up with a little heat applied then cooled back down.

Wow! agree with diesel... if you get it running, post a video w/sound! I wish I had the time and patience to undertake a project like that. First of all I would need to be a widow... second of all, I still wouldn't attempt it! Hat's off to you!
