drag type bale accumulator

Kuhns is built in north east Ohio by Kenny Kuhns. He was a haymaker with an idea of a better accumilator that didn't use electronics or hydraulics plus didn't drag on the ground. It uses counter weights, springs and gravity. Great guy and loves making hay. I beileve it is the best one out there. He will be at the National Farm machinery Show in Loiusville next month. He is always in the booth.:thumbsup:

Mines a SSQA on front of the FEL ... Accumulates 10 bales I have had no problems with dirt, rocks or debris.

The grapple and accumulater are the best thing for square bales. And the two cost less than just the drag type accumulator.

Haywagon/wheat bale wagon labor is abundant here. We do it manually or should I say, they do it manually. We have a regular crew every year.

Besides, it supports the local economy, especially the carry out and Bud Lite.....:laughing:

5030 around were i live we have lost most of our farm land to subdivisions and the little punks that live in them dont want to work most of the ones ive got to work couldnt out work a 80 year old man . ive been paying $10.00 a hour and cant get workers at that price . so i bought a grapple and accumulator so i can do for my self

Curious about now much money you had in material to make both accumulator and then the grapple like you have. I'm interested in getting my neighbor to make them for me he has a welding shop. Looks pretty slick

I bought the grapple cause it appeared to be a little more than I could build ... I have about $485 in the accumulator material and 12 hrs of labor.

Let me share with you this is by far the best thing I have done to my hay operation.

When I went with the smaller 4x4 round baler I thought they would sell and found out I can sell more smaller bales for more per bale than the big ones ... yes more bales to bale per acre, more bales to load and haul ... but last year before the price soared becuase of the drought I still sold for $45 a bale and my neighbor with 5x6's was getting $35

Then the year before folks started calling for square bales so I decided to proceed forward and with the lack of labor available I knew I needed to find a way to cut out that labor ... when I sell the square bales I give my price per bale and then tell the customer we will load your trailer for 50 cents a bale ... did not have anyone say that they would load it.

i get $5.00 a bale for alfalffa orchard grass square picked up at my barn and $40 a 4x5 roll picked up also . my customers can not handle bigger roll bales than 4x5 some of them unload them by rolling them off the trailer . i only take cash also and give them a recept if they want one . this made things alot easyer for me . no more cold checks
