Re: dressin\' up an old YM187

Whiskey,
Nice tractor, I also would have said just polish it up, at least compared to mine! I'm in the middle of refurbishing mine a bit, and the hardest part of the whole job is to know when to say when! You just keep seeing things you could polish or repaint and it just snowballs! I'll be posting some pics in a week when mine's finished...........

Re: dressin\' up an old YM187

I hope my old 195D looks as good when I finish it as yours did when you started. Mine was so ugly that you had to sneak up on it in he dark. 4 or 5 coats of paint. Mostly brushed and none sanded. original (Yuk!) green, 2 red, both different, and white that was falling of in chunks. Hope to have it cleaned up soon, and will post pics when finished. Didn't have the guts to take a before pic.

Re: dressin\' up an old YM187

A little more head way:

I've been playing hit and miss with the rain for the last couple of days and today is a wash out and the old barn I'm using isn't even close to water tight. I got the orange peel off from my first blunder with a paint gun in my hand, little sanding and resprayed it.

I'm very happy with the results this time around, and I'm getting much better at adjusting the gun for the task at hand from big flat areas of sheet metal to little corners and round pipe.

If the weather is nice next weekend I'll scuff it and hit it with the red.

Re: dressin\' up an old YM187

Hope I'm boaring anyone with this, I know how much I like looking at picures of a process on this site, weather it's landscaping or tractor painting or anything inbetween.

Last one for today
