drive over air hose to close gate

I like that, Bruce. I suppose they'd be able to recommend an adaptor... we're 230V 50Hz.

Get one of the wireless ones. The driveway side takes a 9v battery and the receiver takes a standard DC adapter (which you should be able procure locally).
My guess would be 9v 500mA or less.

This switch will do what you want. Use 3/8" air hose and you have to plug the other end, no need for liquid.

Barksdale D1H-H18.

If you are going for a 12v DC latch I would stop by a junk yard and get an electric trunk latch, make sure you get the plug too, will take all the work out of the project.

That looks like just the ticket. Might want to use a relay though, if the contacts are not rated for much current.

Wouldn't a bump or drive-through stock gate be simpler?

I don't know what he is trying to keep in or out but a cattle guard would be better than some bump gates. Either that or you have to sell the cow that figures it out first or she will teach them all how to get out.

This one would be a good choice going that direction.

I like this one for how much effort someone was willing to put into it.
