Ibizans do that, as well. The hound people call it pogo'ing.

The Greyhound in him might also include the sighthounds' ability to double suspension gallop, which is how they cover ground so fast. Double suspension simply means all four paws are completely off the ground twice during a single complete stride. It is similar to how a Cheetah moves at speed.

Out of all the dogs I have ever owned, he is the one I most enjoy watching in movement. Even when he just trots he put me in mind of a thoroughbred horse.

My plott hounds, 'bound' about. Are clumsy, run into each other, pigs, fences, trees. Elvis is as graceful as a dancer and he is a joy to watch.
