That's from the early 1920's NYC railroad Hudson, NY. Notice that the crossbuck is black with white letters. This was changed by law to white with black letters in the 30's as I recall. That thing weighs over 900 lbs and requires a good sized tractor loader to raise it up. Only the local deer population ignors it.

I've been looking around here - driveway alarm they seem to have basic alarms and also some higher priced models like the MURS items.

the Murs system is nice. I plan on installing one on my place as soon as i figure out how to wire it to a 120 volt battery replacer and not have the thing subject to outside moisture.....

i did email them and ask if they have any plans on selling a 120v version in the near future.

OK --I finally got the Dakota murs and it took me all of an hour to install it. Most of that was digging in the probe. Setting up the 2 base units and setting it all up on channel took maybe 10 minutes. I got 2 base and 1 hand held so we also have intercom from the guest cabin to house to my pocket. So far -- loving it. It goes off when the boy gets off the school bus and when the boss comes in from work. Last night it went off when the UPS driver came in and I had lots of time to get out of my chair and be on the porch before he got close to the house. I think I'm gonna like this.

Have had Dakota products for almost 20 years. Been very happy with
them. Have the motion detector model and just had to tweak it a bit
so the sun never hits the sensor to lessen false alarms. Real nice to
be alerted someone is coming up the driveway.

I have the Dakota MURS. It is very reliable. The only problem is lightning sets it off. Every time we have a bad storm I have to turn it off.
