Anyone used their PTO to drive earth anchors? Maybe some modification of an auger pilot bit or something? The eart anchors in question here are the 30 inch helix ones. Thanks

I do some site work for a company that sets up anttena towers. After we grub out the area Ill dig a few angled starting holes and they have some custom made 10 inch blade augers that have square shanks. that drive them with a 50 HP tractor. I tried pulling one out with my 1200 pound hoe. I slide to it or up ended my machine they wont even jiggle. I was amazed. I need to build an auger and drive for my skidsteer for an upcomming o at the lake.

Most of the grape farmers here use an adaptor for their auger to spin the anchors into the ground. Basically, you pull the auger off and put the adaptor on directly to the gearbox. The adaptor goes from the round spindle out of the gearbox to a rectangular box more or less that fits over the head of the anchor and allows it to cradle it while it spins. I will try to find a pic.
