You think sales of the 5.0 will suffer because of the new 2.7 ecoboost? Think Ford will scrap it eventually if they do decline?

Chris, I just gotta say it. You sure take a lot of crap for posting about Ford trucks. Someone basically accused you of making this story up, and you responded appropriately. I commend you for the way you've responded in this thread, at least the posts I've seen. Maybe it was different before pruning.

To the guys who are accusing him of being biased... Duh, the guy clearly likes Fords. If you don't like that don't read his posts. And seriously, "your biased association with Ford is somehow weaved in the unscrupulous removal of many posts..." Let's just think about whether that makes any sense at all. First we accuse him of making it up because his truck's used in the first place, then we accuse him of being some sort of "internet agent" working for Ford and with moderators on this site. Seems like a stretch, especially since I've watched the mods remove his posts too when he doesn't act as restrained.

Not to spoil your Infomercial but I sure would not be bragging about 17 mpg!!
My 04 Silverado X-Cab gets 17-20 mpg ACTUAL MILEAGE! But the computer (calculator) is hand held.
What I don't understand is that we have a 2005 Chevy Express 2500 cargo van with essentially the same drivetrain. We log all fuel use, and the highest we've ever gotten is 18 mpg - it's usually 15-16.

But in "pickup war" threads, essentially the same vehicles get 10-20% better mileage. Remarkable.

P.S. We own a Ford van as well, no dog in the fight.

Diamond Pilot posted about a FORD ECOBOOST. Nothing about Dodge Rams, Chevrolet Silverados, or purple zebras.

No, the V8 will always have the purists who want it.

I think it will actually take sales from the 3.5 Ecoboost to guys like my dad and uncle.

Ford country.

I guess I missed all the excitement. Wish I could have seen the other posts.

I was asked at the end of the test drive if I would purchase a Ford F150 as my next truck. I told them if buying today the answer is yes but it would not be the 2.7.

I also told them I don't plan on buying again till 2016 at which time I will go to one truck. More than likely a Cummins powered Titan if diesel prices come in line with gas or whatever is out that has equal power and can tow around 15,000#. This would allow me to go from 2 trucks to just one.

I have a hard time seeing any 2016 half ton being able to tow 15K legally. Yeah sure they can do it. My dads '10 F-150 can tow a concrete crusher that weighs at least 20 tons, not legally though. with the current tow ratings of half tons i just dont see them being able to legally tow 15K in a year. Just my :2cents:

Get a grip. It's not about him, or you. There's about 6 good posts that have just been deleted for no good reason.
Good posts? Which ones are you referring to, the insulting ones, or the ones griping that the insulting posts were removed?
Posts that do not follow the rules you agreed to when you signed up for this site will be removed. It has NOTHING to do with Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge vs Kioti.

Doesn't bode well for freedom of speech in this country
I think that motownbrowne covered this well:
Regarding "freedom of speech in this country" it frankly doesn't apply to TBN. There are rules of conduct here that apply to all members. You agreed to them when you signed up and thus surrendered your right to free speech. So, while you may be within your rights constitutionally to curse up a streak and call people names, you waived that right here. If you don't like it, you're welcome to publish your own edict about how Chris makes you mad and publish it yourself. Send me a copy if you do.;)

According to Ford's website, you can't get cruise control on the XL model unless it is bundled with a "power/convenience" package that boosts the price by almost $2K. GM and Ram include cruise as a standard feature on all trucks. I like to be able to pick and choose the options I want and not be forced to buy SYNC, SmartKey, and power tailgate locks etc.
