DST.......What do you think?

We used to NOT observe DST here in most of Indiana. We never changed our clocks.

One of my former colleagues, Hal, got his PhD at Purdue. I remember him telling me that he sometimes accompanied his major professor on trips to various meetings in the state. Prior to each trip, Hal's job was to call the Extension office in the county where a meeting was to be held and ask what time it was.:)

Spent a number of hours today changing clocks at the Hospital... not as intensive as it once was as more and more clocks self adjust... the older equipment must still be done manually which also includes phones, alarms, Sterilizers, etc...

It is faster to spring forward!!!

But HEY! Just last Sunday was the first time you could buy alcohol on a Sunday in Indiana since prohibition, so we're making progress!!!

The change is a real pain in the butt. Tired of the endless clock changing. Should be left alone, one way or the other.
Should be able to "Set it and Forget it"!

Yep. There's 4 counties to our west, from here to Chicago, that are in the CST and stayed on Chicago time year round, as they do more business with Chicago. And there's some counties down in Southwest Indiana that are in the CST, too.

For that matter, my inlaws live about 5 miles southwest of us. They are in the EST, but depending on where you stand in their yard, and which cell tower you hit, your phone can pick a tower out of the CST and change your clock without you noticing. So I disabled auto time zone on most of the familys' phones just because of that. I had a friend that owned a house about 5 miles north of us. His back yard fence was the Indiana/Michigan state line. If he walked out his front door, his phone would be on EST. If he went out into his backyard, it would switch to CST.

People actually went and bought beer on Sunday, took selfies, and saved recipes to frame! The liquor stores just across the state line in Michigan were DEAD on Sunday afternoon.

Sunday liquor hours in Indiana are noon to 8pm. So you got 8 hours to get it on Sunday!

Still no cold beer any day of the week except in liqour stores. That's the next hurdle.
