The other quote that you have for the 2015 budget, was "a proposal" only for installing blender pumps. This money, if funded, goes to fuel sellers, only if they install a blender pump (a pump capable of dispensing from E0, E10, E15, E 20, E30, E 50 and E85 from the same pump). The only such subsidy for blender pumps in Nebraska that I am aware of is from the Nebraska Corn Board, not the US Govt. Read the rest of the article & it is all "old" news, but does talk about the Govt subsidies that ended in 2011.

You are right, it's page 222 of the document. I just looked at the count on my document reader. This is a snip from the paragraph:

18.
BioDiesel tax credit.
"In addition, small agri-biodiesel producers are eligible for a separate income tax credit for ethanol production."

I agree with you, but I feel that consumers need more education. Most of the opinions here are not really based upon fact or educated information. The press is seldom fair and the election on this site is not balanced either. Am I in the minority that want to support an American industry ? I don't think so.

We are American fuel independent now with all the oil n gas drilling. OPEC can't artificially jack up the prices whenever someone in the middle east sneezes.

Creating a false economy using corn for energy makes us more dependent on oil since it takes so more energy to create it then it provides. This is probably George Bush's biggest failing, and I'm a big time Conservative. He was horrible on the whole green energy scam and is guilty of using ethanol to try and buy votes in Iowa and the other big producing states. Now that the other side is in power, they are trying even harder to buy votes with bad technology and lying about oil and coal.

For every BTU of energy it take to make ethanol, from planting a seed, to fertilizer, to transportation, to ethanol production, ethanol nets 1.34 BTU of energy at the other end. 34% more energy output from ethanol production than energy used to make it. This study looks at coal energy, liquid fuel energy, lime application, fertilizer, and just about anything you can think of that goes into typical corn production and subsequent ethanol production. Study done my the Argonne National Laboratory. Enough reading to keep one busy for a while. You might want to just skip to the conclusion section unless you have a fascination for numbers.

Wow! 4.8 billion in agriculture subsidies in one year for the entire U.S. ag sector! That is downright criminal! Especially when it only cost us 14 billion per month during the 10 year Iraq war! What a waste of resources. We could have thrown even more into the Iraq war and provided more stuff for ISIS to get their hands on after we left if we had've taken the 400 million a month that goes to agriculture. How short sighted we are.
