Eco Boost vs V8

Nothing new here. A ford thread turns into a "bash all other brands" thread. :talktothehand:

This is a hilaruois post. Go back to page one and look at your posts from the get go. You non-Ford owners come into a Ford thread for the sole purpose of stirring the pot. You are obviously a troll or work for GM. Which one are you?

Report back after you read the link. Might want to edit your earlier post to include all subcompact tractors

I read the story. Very interesting. It would be nice to see compact tractors from any color being produced here.

Obviously that article is a little dated ... do you know if they have actually begun producing tractors there?

.....
And when speaking categorically, I typically lump compact & SCUT into the same group. Stone of the smaller utility line tractors could be included as well.

I just remembered that thread. I would think by now they would be making them. I have a big made in the USA sticker on my Kubota loader but I think the rest of my tractor was built in Japan. I was surprised when I saw that sticker.

Yeah, I think you'll find now that most loaders are built here. Some, like Kubota, build their own. Others are made by American equipment companies, like Rhino, or in my case, AmerEquip.

I really hesitate to weigh into the GM bail out arguments, but I'll go on record as one who won't ever buy one. It was not just the bailout, whose necessity could be debated ad nauseam, it was the way it went down with O'bama Admin interference in the bankruptcy process in order to benefit O'bama constituents. I saw it as one of his first in a long line of moves to use Federal Government power to enrich and enhance his minions. The stimulus was another such move, with the vast majority of the money going to Blue states and to union-only work. So again, not just the bailout, but the way it went down that I had issues with. :2cents:

Yep, when the egoboost people are done bashing the other ford engines, they move to the other makes. Then they jump into politics and don't forget the unions, other states, and of course anything but the original thread topic.:punch:

Yes, when some imply that the ecoboost is PERFECT, I state that some ARE having problems with that engine. When some state that ford NEVER took government money, I state that YES, they in fact did get money. Some still believe in the fantasy that one make is perfect and one engine is perfect. I'm just the myth buster.:punch:

I call a spade a spade. It was Bush's bailout

Could of fooled me the way Mr. O campaigned so hard on saving the auto industry. Yes, Bush ordered it before he left office, but O was there to implement it and circumvent the normal debt/creditor resolution process. Some excerpts from the attached link:

The government bailout of General Motors (GM) and Chrysler between 2008 and 2009 will cost taxpayers between $17 and $20 billion. The entirety of these losses occurred because the Administration gave the United Auto Workers (UAW) special treatment. The UAW recovered far more in the bankruptcy than it had a legal right to:

Legally, the UAW claims had the same status as those of other unsecured creditors, but the UAW recovered a much greater proportion of the debts that General Motors and Chrysler owed the union.

Bankruptcy typically brings uncompetitive wages down to competitive levels. However, existing UAW members did not take pay cuts at General Motors.

The restructured General Motors used taxpayer funds top up the pensions of unionized retirees at Delphi, its bankrupt former parts subsidiary. New GM had no legal obligation to do so and nonunion employees did not receive similar benefits.

These subsidies to UAW compensation cost taxpayers $30.0 billion - more than the government spends each year on foreign aid or on extended unemployment insurance benefits. They account for the entire net taxpayer losses in the bailout.

UAW members at General Motors and Chrysler are among the most highly paid workers in America. High salaries are good, but they must be earned. The taxpayer losses came from the special treatment that President Obama bestowed on the UAW. The auto bailout was actually a UAW bailout.

Auto Bailout or UAW Bailout? Taxpayer Losses Came from Subsidizing Union Compensation

I won't post more on this subject since it's OT and probably belongs in the Politics forum.

Well maybe this will make you feel better-the GM Silverado pickups were just named Truck of the Year at the North american Auto Show and Dodge Ram 1500 was named Truck of the Year by Motor Trend magazine for the second year in a row... which just shows all three manufacturers are building good trucks...
