Well, aesthetically, the new ones are much nicer.

I absolutely love mine; they've gone through 3 winters now, and outside of paint I'm not seeing any real wear on them. They're seriously one of the best purchases I've made for my tractor.

You know... in all my search for better skid shoes for my blower to keep it from digging into my stone driveway and lawn I never thought about the possibility of using edge tamers. I'm gonna have to see if this is a possibility on my blower... maybe when it warms up. 0F out there today, it'll be 50 on thursday.

I'd think they'd work OK clamped to the outer ends.

On the other hand (if U weld) do as I did.
Simply weld some flat 2-3" flat stock (with both ends bent like ski tips) onto the bottom of the factory blower skids. I made mine about 10 " long X 2.5" wide.
No more gravel raking in the spring!
Going on 5 years with no spring raking and very rare shear pin replacing either. (not once yet this year)

Amazon has the same units Cycledude describes. I'm considering the knock-offs for my bigger machine. The plastic locking studs can always be replaced with a simple 12mm bolt.

The reviews on those are pretty damning if you read them, lol. Weird how there are so many 5 star reviews, but the majority of written reviews have photo proof of repetitive issues.

Editing their product on to stock images also really helps build faith lol.

Are you plowing on gravel roads or asphalt/concrete?

Sorry for the very late reply to your question. Mostly been used for plowing on gravel and grass, they work great on both. No more worries about possibly digging up my lawn or field.
