Edger/trimmer for a mid-mount deck

Yup - this one's going to be tricky ... I can see that there will be a fine balance (as always) between difficulty in design and ease of just getting off the darned tractor and doing it myself!!

The alternative is to put a weed-whacker mount on the back of my ROPS!

I'm going to go outside and take a look at my BX over the next couple of days and have a good think ...

Thanks - that's the type of thing I'm looking for, but perhaps on a smaller scale. I don't have the orchard / vineyard to justify the expense against. I did see further down the page the pictures below too - looks like they sell a separate kit ...

Good news is that since several manufacturers are obviously in on the act then this can't be a heavily patented device!!

Ryobi, and John Deere have "quick connect" style weedeaters. It consists of an engine on a shaft, and various attachments that you can buy. You can JUST the string trimmer for less that $50 i'm sure"

Oh darn and Thank G-d too,
Thought about drawing up some sketches and doing a patent search on something just like that, and going to JD or Kubota if it hadn't been done. Darn, it's done, Thank G-d I now don't have to go back to the patent library!
Let's all write Kubota and see if they'll start building a tiny belt driven PTO on the non discharge side of the mower deck for string-trimmer and edger attatchments.
