Ours lay 15-20 eggs/day. Wife had a steady customer base up until two weeks ago. She taught a couple dance classes per week at the Senior center in town, and folks in the class bought all we didn't eat. That is now ended, so we'll either eat them, or feed them to the dogs, or back to the chickens. Have one neighbor that will take some, but not what we'll have to get rid of.
She got a few calls for eggs last night from some of the teachers she works with. These are our regulars who buy 2 dozen at a time and pay cash, so she'll drop them off today with the others. So far, we're not under any restrictions to travel here in Texas.
With our big trades, we just give them the eggs as they are, but for our regulars, she washes them.
Thank you. I thought she was crazy wanting the different breeds for the different colored eggs, but that's really what sells our eggs. People that buy them, constantly compliment us on how nice the look and how good they taste. The taste is because they free range and get to eat a variety of quality natural food, the color is from the variety of breeds that we have.
Just curious, do you supplement their feeding or are they on their own?
I wouldnt mind getting some but not cost effective if buying feed, and too many predators to free range.
