Electric pressure washer reviews

I’ve got 2. One is a Honda powered DeVilbiss 2800 psi. Use that for deck cleaning and bigger jobs. Really I haven’t used it in a couple of years. Sits in the basement.

Second one is a cheapie electric AR Blue Clean I got from ACE. Definitely easier to use and doesn’t take up much garage space. Only 1700 or so PSI, but works great for vehicles and my equipment which doesn’t get all that dirty. Also drains easily and it’s never frozen on me in winter, being stored in an unheated garage. Was on sale when I bought it for $99.

I’m going to drag it out tomorrow and clean the generator enclosure and the propane tank. They’re looking pretty mucky with green mold and mildew. I’ll treat both with a house wash first, then the stuff comes off easily.

I have a Husqvarna from costco, got it on sale for $179. Gets the job done for light duty cleaning.

Previously I had a unit from Lowes, I believe a green works. Seemed more powerful but ultimately only lasted about five years before the pump gave out. Often times I would start it up and the pump took a long, long time to prime even when I primed it in advance of running. Maybe an air leak.

Here's the new model of the unit I had:

For $119, not bad at all.

They also have this unit with the same 1900psi that would be great for a wall mount, for $109:

If you need power, you'll be disappointed. If you need convenience and reliability of electric to wash your vehicles, equipment, house, etc, you'll get good results with an electric unit as long as it lasts. For $179 I would be happy with 10 years. For $109 or $119, maybe five years. That's the cost of a couple takeout meals where I live.

All you TBNers that own one, does it perform adequately for basic equipment cleaning and concrete drives?

What kind works best for the money?
TIA
I prefer the gas powered. I have never found an electric one with as much pressure as the gas ones. They may make them but I have never found one. Plus I don't like working with electric cords around water.

I have an electric and also a gas model. There is no comparison between the 2. The electric is fine for rinsing stuff off. But if you want clean sidewalks, driveways etc, go for gas. You will be much happier you did. My gas unit is rated at 3100psi @ 2.6 gal/min and the electric is a 1700 psi @ 1.2 gpm. They both work but I don’t even use the electric anymore. The gas unit nozzle pressure can be dialed back for delicate jobs. But my advice, get the gas unit. You’ll be much happier.

I have a 3000k gas, and a SunJoe electric. I almost always use the Sunjoe. It’s not quite as fast, but so much easier to move around. Extremely happy with the Sunjoe.

I have the north star 5hp 220v electric 3000psi. It performs just like the 5hp gas model except it’s quiet. Not silent, but quiet compared to the gas one. I bought mine from a liquidator for 200$ when wiring laws started to require 4 conductor plug. Probably 18 years ago? Anyway I’m happy with it and if a guy watches gov auctions I’ve seen them sell there pretty cheap.

I can find two or three on thrash day. The only thing that I have found is that people do not run all of the soap out of the pump. The little plastic valve sticks and they throw them away

My ex g/f had a karcher electric, that her ex husband left with her.
After using it, and having been used to 3500 psi gas unit, I can see why he left it, I could pee a stronger stream…..

I have a gas 3500psi 3gpm (Generac) and a 3000psi 1.1gpm elec (Ryobi). The Ryobi works well for basic cleaning around the house & vehicles. Generac will strip the clothes off anything at 10 paces - also works well stripping oil, grime, other nasties off tractors & implements.

Bottom line, they both work well at the projects I bought them for.

I did have a chance to try a battery version earlier this year, I had high hopes, but decided it really needs more time in R&D to do anything more than just brag about itself.

I've had a SunJoe 2200 PSI 1.2 GPM 13 Amp Cold Water Xtream Clean Corded Electric Pressure Washer for 5 years and use it for my tractor, boat, walks and the siding on my house and it works great. It has 4 nozzles and a very long chord. I actually prefer it over my gas version as its quiet and always ready to use. I have several friends who have them as well.
