Electric winch on my log arch

Thanks, Xfaxman,, I've seen a few second hand ones for sale with these, I was actually interested in one since it was near my home but though these types were inferior to cable.

The synthetic winch cables are probably better than steel in everything but abrasion resistance and cost.

You can use a roller fairlead BUT it has to be one that has never been chewed up by a steel cable, same as a hawse fairlead.
I have a section of second hand synthetic cable with a spliced loop on each end that I carry as a tow cable. 30 ft of cable slips into a small plastic pop (soda) bottle for emergency use.
These cables are lighter and easier on the hands but too pricey to exchange for a good steel cable already in use...

I use the anderson type connectors for a couple of reasons. I have one on the rear of my truck for those times I need to charge batteries for a cordless drill or saw. Or to use the winch on my trailer.

Seeing your inverter brought back memories from ten years ago.

So im building a plate to protect the winch and operator.i suppose i could put the aux batterys down low too on back side,if i did this and rolled this thing would i be ok having the batterys laying sideways until it gets back up or???
...or stick to plan and keep them on wheeler?

If they are sealed batteries, you probably won't have a problem if they tip over. But as you've found, you're able to roll the arch. If you roll it with the batteries on it, will the batteries hit a log, break the cases, spill acid, etc.... you're the user and know what's best for your situation. ;)

Flooded lead acid batteries (the common battery used in tractors, cars, trucks, heavy equipment, boats, etc) cannot be upside-down, they can and will leak acid.

You need a sealed battery like an AGM if you plan on rolling it. :)

I got the connectors out of a large UPS for a computer system. They work great. I have half a dozen or so.
