My rule in grounding is use a central point- it reduces ground loops.
I took the battery ground to the engine block as the start point. I added a 12Ga line to the dash, thereby connecting the front to the back. I ran a second line to the back tub wall via a new bolt. If I were doing it over, I would have run that second line to the electrical box, where there is a ground point, but I didn't realize it at the time.
Unlike, Ken, I used standard automotive wire, rather than D-8 towing cable...
