Most of your economy tractors are mechanical HST and the premiuims are electrical servo. I know the electrical servo allows more options like auto throttle and speed control. The mechanical does have cruise control.

Besides some of the more advance features on the electrical HST, is the mechanical just as strong and rugged?

I have not seen a lot of discussion on this and figured I would ask all the professionals on here. If you were buying an HST tractor would either one make a difference to you?

Mechanical is simpler and less to go wrong. From an operator's perspective servo based systems are the bees knees.

More electronics is nice to have when they are all working, a nightmare and costly to own when they go wrong.
