We won't know if the curved pipes with the straight hoses is a better solution until someone has had it installed for a year (that's about how long the curved hoses last). Or have the Class IIIs used the curved pipe solution all along? I'm not as familiar with the Class IIIs.

Mike I have no experience with Class IIIs before 2002 however this is the setup that is used on our particular run.

Is my 7610s the only tractor that uses what looks like 2wire or 4 wire hyd hose for the oil cooler lines? Mine are still good.. no signs of any decay / leak.. unit is a 2002.

Looks like a much better solution than what's on the Class IIs.

wonder if you could get a picture of new hose setup. My TC 29d has replaced elbows 2 twice now. Dealer knew of the problem and kept an eye on them as I have them service the unit every 100 hours. Now has 1100 hours on it. Lets see; 1100 hours ; replaced hoses 2 times; that is 366.67 hours per hose. This is a 1999 unit. I have noticed that each time the elbows were replaced they would begin to leak after getting hot a few times so it is a good idea to check tightness of clamps after running it a short time.

They are the same way on my 2000 TC35D.. no problems w/ leaking.. almost 2000hrs.

I imagine they are the same on all Class III Boomers. Like Pineridge's TC40, your TC35 is a Class III.

The larger frames have a much better setup. The curve is metal and it looks like the hoses are real hydralic lines, not ballons. Be real interested in seeing a picture of the new setup. I would think straight lines could handle all the movement and vibration, just wouldn't generate extra cash income.....

Two hoses worth about $10? Hardly cash income. It's a bad design, to be sure, but don't attribute malice when you don't know the motive. An engineer somewhere, given the space limitations, thought this was a good idea. It wasn't. No more complicated than that. No one makes a perfect tractor.

Here's what it looks like. The metal lines are covered with wire loom. There are two straight rubber hoses running between the metal lines and the cooler.
