After the upgrade (whatever it was) last night, I don't seem to get the email subscription any longer. I guess it's not a huge deal, and I only subscribed to a few threads that I really wanted, but when I got on I saw that those threads had been updated and I wasn't notified. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue? Muhammed, you know about this?

There have been MANY issues with TBN automated mail updates being regarded as spam by ISVs.
The moderators become very sensitive on this, likely to jump all over you, scream at you for being so dumb as to use an ISV that applies the black list filter, on and on...
It just isn't worth it.

TBN will not fix this, they will continue to blame ISVs.

You might think it can't be THAT HARD to make these messages look a lot less like spam, but I guess the skill set isn't readily available to ...whoever.

You can drop it, you can get a free e-mail account on hushmail and use that for ONLY the TBN updates, whatever you do it is generally best to just not re-ignite the still smoldering embers of previous fire fights on THIS one.

Actually, they've been quite pleasant. They've been trying different things and it's been going in and out. But multiple moderators have been updating periodically, trying to sort through the problems. I haven't been here long, but the mods have always been pleasant to me and also in this thread. Not sure what the harsh words are for?

1. Most of the moderators are just that, moderators. Not Administrators and no access to the backend email systems.
2. We deal with sending bulk notification emails and blacklists at work and they are a pain (at best)
3. How do you purpose changing the automated messages to be less spamlike? Unlike many forums I frequent, you actually get the text of the new message in the alert and IMO they are about the same as everyone else's new post notifications.
4. I haven't seen any flaming for using a particular email provider... Have seen quite a few people who wont do basic troubleshooting to see where the problem is though.
5. TBN is a large site and I imagine that there are a LOT of emails being sent out... That in and of itself is a red flag to many email providers.
