hydrolock I assume?
Yeah, it was pretty ugly. Oddly enough I was able to formulate an accurate repair $estimate$ before I even got out of the water. :ashamed: Must be a talent I developed over years of breaking and fixing my own stuff. :(

One day I was driving my tractor past the boat ramp and decided to stop and rinse her off. Up till then I used the HST pedals as brakes. Unfortunately a new hydraulic hose may have interfered with the shift lever and she popped out of gear. I flailed away on the HST pedals until my pants were wet. :) Then I found the brake. Once people stopped laughing they came over and helped me out. Then they left and continued to laugh out of earshot.

I rebuilt my first diesel engine that summer.
Since then I use the brake to stop and I clean my tractor with a broom.

Custom designer connecting rods?? LOL.. Yep unfortunately water dont compress very well.. Kudos for fixing it yourself..

And I would rather not mention how many times I have stuck the ZTR near the edge of the pond while mowing.. Luckily it so far back it does not draw a lot of attention when I pull that stunt...

When I had my BX22, I decided to cut, and burn some brush in the middle of the winter. I started making a road, but soon found out that I could drive the BX right on top of the hard packed, and crusted snow.. until I hit a spot the sun had been on a bit more than the rest. There isn't 2' of clearance under a BX, but there certainly was 2' or more of packed snow. The lady next door came by walking her dogs, and asked if I had a problem. "No" said I, "I have power tools here, and a plan". Well the bucket wouldn't reach low enough to touch the ground, and when the neighbor came back by I explained that I had a plan "B" in mind. So, I unlimbered the backhoe. Well, the stabilizers wouldn't reach the ground either, and even though the BX is a small tractor, balancing it on a 12" bucket on a slight side hill lost favor as a plan with me pretty quickly. When the neighbor came back by with the rest of her dogs she laughed, and I said "of course I will have to kill you now since you have seen me using a tool with a handle". :D As soon as I got the tires to touch ground, I just proceeded to make a road like I should have in the beginning. My neighbor is still alive, but still laughs, and says "maybe you should take a shovel with you" when she sees me on the tractor.

Have you folks seen this one? Sometimes in pipelining, a side-boom can tip over. But that's OK, ya can 'pop' them back up on their feet......er tracks! :YouTube - How to ruin an excavator

When I was 16 I was out mowing our yard in my Bikini and the people 3 doors down were on vaction for 2 weeks and left grandma to watch their 3 kids. She asked me if I would cut it for a little money. I said ok. They were all sitting there watching me mow and I was going around this med sized bush kinda close. Some how my Bikini top caught on the right limb and off it went just like that. I mean It wasnt just hanging down, it was gone. I was sitting there with no top trying to cover up with my arms and look around. I couldnt see it so I got up. The kids came running down and were right on top of me, all boys. The Grandma found it and I ran inside their house and shut the door so I could put the top on without making more of a scene. hehe I still think about that today, and Im sure I could have went around that bush a hundred times and couldnt do that again if I tried. One things for sure though, those 3 boys became men that day.

I haven't done anything to crazy -yet. Driven about 25 feet with the ballast box down (two deep tracks in my gravel drive). Graded a stretch on my subdivision road with my back blade but had the parking brake on (why is this thing pulling so hard?). Ran into the corner of one my sheds with the loader bucket ( 2 hrs removing and weaving cedar shingles). Punched a hole in the drywall in my garage bringing in firewood. Nothing to big, hopefully I'm gettin better and not just older!
