I have a Iseki TX1500 with KE75 Mitsubishi 2cyl. I have had one heck of a time getting it started after having set for year.
New diesel filter, bleeding at filter & inj. Pump. Cracked lines at injectors.
As engine turned over, closed off each bleed point when air bubbles stopped.
Noticed 1st. Injector appeared to have minimal flow.
Retraced above procedure. Same result. Glow plugs/Engine cranks over, black smoke a plenty, but no start.
Thought there might be an injector pump issue so removed pump. Left the same as removed, no indication of rust or contamination.
Put back into engine, was careful to line up governor with accelerator rack and buttoned up. Turned over and fired. Went to adjust throttle and had a runaway! Never experienced this before. High rpms, smoke and heat. Thought, running through my mind, I was going to lose this engine. Panic set in and I grabbed a pair of pliers and pinched off fuel. 10sec. Later it was over.
Now I am a little leary of starting it until I can correct the problem. Have any of you experienced this or can give me a suggestion on what to do. I did not have the injector fuel return line on the injectors, could that have caused the issue?

When u had the pump out, did the rack slide freely left and right.??

Yes, I checked it before I aligned it with the governor prior to reinstall. As long as it mated with the yoke prior to assembly, positioning should not matter?

Should “that” matter?

Do you have a way to block the air intake if it happens again? That would be a quicker way to shut it down than cutting the fuel.

Well I found out how a stupid mistake almost cost me an engine. I pulled the pump off again and discovered I must have touched the linkage thus misaligned the rack to the governor arm.
Reset the shims and pump, aligned the arm and it fired right up. I don’t even need the glow plugs on a fresh start however will start to use after my tractor goes outside the garage.
Thank you for your input. I should have thought to cut off the air however panic flooded my thoughts and I’m fortunate I didn’t soil myself.
