Engine shut off loud rattle

I have a Hustler Raptor SD 54" (model year 2018) mower and when I shut the engine off, I hear a loud rattle around the engine or transmission. It sounds like there's play in the engine or somethings loose. It's very loud and lasts a couple of seconds. It doesn't sound like a loose bolt, but like the engine piston, etc. I believe it's gotten worse over the past few weeks. I'm worried it's something in the engine or transmission. But the engine runs good, no rattles from the engine or transmission when it's running. I change the engine oil once or twice a season with synthetic and the transmission with synthetic about 350 hours ago. I'm going to change the transmission oil next weekend. Mower has 450 hours. I couldn't find a thread that already discussed this symptom. Please help me.Thanks!!!!

More information on my mower. Hustler Raptor SD 54 Kohler 7000, Spec PS-KT740-3042 725cc, Serial 4601931503 mower, manufacture 03/2016.

 

[Roadworthy]

Some Kohler engines have an electric solenoid fuel shutoff in the carburetor to prevent run on. It's possible yours is bad. Check the carburetor to see if there's an electric wire running to it. When power is applied the solenoid allows fuel to flow. When the key is turned off the solenoid stops fuel flow so the engine dies immediately. It was a pollution control for newer engines back then.

Check the coupler between the engine and transmission. Rotate the engine forward and back and see if there is play from being worn.
