So, I tried the pour and restore last week and was fairly impressed. While it certainly didn't remove everything, it did seem to soak up the bulk of the oil that had penetrated the concrete. The only downside is that a standard sized bottle covers about a 3' X 3' area tops. For larger spills this translates into a lot of product and some $$$$.

Good suggestion, however, and best thing I've tried to date!

Ok, I know, long dead topic. But what you might want to try is a product called Sphagsorb. It's a dehydrated peat moss that you would pour over the spill, give it a few minutes, and sweep it up. The peat moss actually soaks up the oil from cracks and it can come with the bacteria that eats oil. The husk holds the oil until it degrades into safer elements.

Give it a shot.
