Pic 2
Via across rear garden. I am keeping enough space on rear and side elevation to let me get tractor and trailer around it as a grass route.
If you look closely to the front 1/3 you can see the chalk line marked out for excavation of foundation.
Hope to get this dug out tomorrow weather permitting. (oops, today now). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

View from rear corner. This gives a better indication of the slope to the site. The base is approx level now. Some 3' of excavation at front.
I will have to bring up base walls to this level, fill the centre with consolidated hardcore and cast slab at the upper level for the shed floor.

Spot the construction tools resting in the background /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

View to the rear of the house. Note the slope on the access road.

Also in the foreground of the excavation you can see the stone from land drainage route. I am going to have to redirect this line as it is hindering the position of the rear foundation.

Oh dear! More excavation /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Better quality image of the perspective

Hope all the pics are not boring. I'll take some more if anyone's interested in seeing them once the foundations are out, and then as the stages progress.

Sure. We can never get enough photos. It looks like your getting closer and closer everyday. Gerard

Well foundations are in and the "footings" have now been raised.

Foundations went in during pouring rain last Thursday.

Due to soft ground and restricted access, hired a mini dumper.
High tip, four wheel drive centre articulated. With a very small payload, it still let us get concrete in in no time without unduly cutting up the garden.

Sub-Structure or "footing" blockwork is 215mm wide concrete blockwork.
My father, brother and myself put this up in a day. 800+ blocks. I'm still stiff and sore all over /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The top of the blockwork is the finished floor level of the shed.

Tractor and fork attachment proved invaluable.

We got the delivery driver to set individual lifts of blocks (44No in a bale), onto pallets at the front of the house.

"Little Blue" just managed to move them. 3-pt would lift 6" and then pressure relief valve would start to squeal. My father had to perch himself on the front suitcase weights for extra loading and keep the front end on the ground.
We then carried them the 100yds in low box, using foot brakes for steering. Going carefully, we had no incidents. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Much, much easier than a wheelbarrow. And there was no double handling /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif The blocks could be set at the side of the foundation and lifted straight from the pallet to the wall.
Also made tidying up much easier aftewards.
