Equipment trailer, 16' vs 18' dilemma

This has worked really well for me. I have a variety of places to tie down and since I also use the trailer to transport stone/mulch, I used my router to make 'pockets' so they stow flush with the deck.

Those recessed D rings look well done for sure, but I don't have raised sides on my trailer so I'll just be using the stake pockets to attach to trailer like I've seen many people do where you just drop the grab hook down threw the pocket and come up under one side and hook it on the top edge of the pocket.

I'm looking for ideas on how to connect to tractor, I've got chain binders, ratcheting web slings, chains, just not much experience.

I'm gonna start another thread to get more noticed,

Thanks.

JB,
It's supposed to get 70 here tomorrow and i was going to change my wheels around, in the next couple days i will load my tractor on my trailer and let you see that. I may need that picture for something else anyway.

Yeah I'd like to see your method

JB

I took a couple of pics today. I dragged it out and put the plate on it. Just about ready to hit the road. I changed the 6 wire plug out for the RV style to match the truck.

Looks good, what's that vertical member sticking down in front of the wheels? about half way forward from the wheels, looks like steel?
With that beaver tail it should be no problem driving up there:)

Good luck,

It holds what appears to be a the third ramp, in place. I haven't taken it out yet, I'll check it out tomorrow.

I had "D" ring brackets made that bolt onto my tractor. I just hate the thought of wrapping chains around things plus it can't be all that secure as they could slip in certain areas.
I don't know why mfgs don't provide tie down points on there units. Should be standard equipment to me as just about every tractor or mower or whatever will be hauled at some point even if its just the original delivery.

I've seen where others have done something like that, a permanent connection point, good idea. I don't like the idea of hacking things up with the chain either, but they do sell some HD sleeves.
I'm gonna experiment tomorrow with tying tractor to trailer, I spent a couple of hundred today at AWDirect on binders hooks etc. should have most of the pcs of the puzzle.

JB.
