Good morning LS xr 4140 with 556 hours tractor in limp mode error code s 97 F04 I did complete service oil change, air filters, fuel filter disconnect battery hoping for a reset but still in limp mode 1400 rpm's I am 66 in need of adult supervision thanks to all

Could not find S 97 F04 but all S 94 error (F01 F02 and F03) seem to indicate water in fuel

Try changing the fuel filter, repriming the system & see if that clears the limp mode & code.

Already Changed fuel filter I think next I will drop and clean fuel tank and the water sensor connections Thanks Eagle1 and pops

Before dropping the tank, check the electrical connection to the water sensor. That can throw a code if not connected or excess resistance is messing with the signal to the ecu.

S97 F2 or F11 means water detected in fuel. S97 F3 or F4 means water in fuel sensor fault. So either you have a bad connection or bad wire, or the sensor is bad. Never have seen these sensors fail, so most likely a wire issue.

Sounds to me like it's the old paper clip jumper time...

The water in fuel sensor only has one wire so you can't jump it. The wire is probably shorted to ground between the sensor and ECU. Early XR4100 series were known for the engine wiring harness rubbing against a bracket where the harness goes over the top of the radiator between the engine and ECU.. It will cause all kinds of fault codes when it rubs through the insulation. On later tractors the harness was relocated to prevent this problem.

THANKS TO ALL IT IS FIXED Because y'all gave me code that narrowed it down to water sensor cleaned connections put an electrical ty rap on to tighten connection and cranked up went to full speed life is good thanks again for all support It took a few days a had to trim 9 horses and it took me a day to heal up from that hahaha
